In addition to firmness, Select vibrant, full coloured fruit with no signs of green for peak ripeness. Ripe fruit will also have a fragrant mango smell and usually the best eating mangoes appear round and full and feel heavy in hand.

To get the best taste out of your mangoes, follow these simple storage tips:
- If your mangoes are not ripe enough, store them at room temperature and out of the sun for a few days until ripe
- Never store mangoes in plastic bags – mangoes need air!

Mangoes are grown in the tropical and sub tropical climates of Australia. Main growing areas include Darwin & Katherine in the NT, Mareeba, Bowen & Bundaberg in QLD and Kununurra & Carnarvon in WA.
