“For Peat’s Sake!” the distillery manager cried, as Peat, the maltman, put far too much peat into the kiln during malting, causing smoke to billow everywhere. Hand-crafted, full bodied, peated blend with specially selected smoky single malts expertly blended with the finest grain Scotch whiskies. For Peat’s Sake is an intensely smoky and peaty blended Scotch whisky with an earthy, rich character.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich with peat and earthy smoke coming forward, aromas of charred oak, vanilla, oat biscuits, toffee and sultanas with fresh citrus highlights.
Palate: Full-bodied, well-rounded and smooth palate with an intense earthy smokiness, which is
balanced and lingers. Layers of treacle toffee, smoked pancetta, maple syrup and cedar spices combine to achieve a rich complexity.
Finish: The finish is long, it has an initial sweetness with notes of raisin, roasted pecan and syrup,
balanced by intense smoke and peat which lingers on and on.
