Torbreck's Woodcutter's Shiraz is made from the fruit of low-yielding vineyards for a more premium grape. Bold in flavour with plenty of natural sweetness and supple tannins, it's incredibly easy on the palate and will surely become a favourite.
Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia
Very deep, almost glass-staining purple-red colour; there are dark-plum and blackberry aromas, fruit driving the wine. The palate is medium-full bodied and surprisingly structured for such an inexpensive shiraz, drinking well now but also promising to take some age well, and possibly to its advantage. A touch of tarry chew on the finish. There's a helluva lot of wine here for the price.
