Wow! Popping the cork on this Tassie sparkling released a rush of gorgeous heady, toasty/bready aromas. The bubble action was fine and energetic and the taste was deep and complex. Some wines at this price can be fairly straightforward - nice, but simple. Not so, the Distant South - lots to see here! Freshness up front, but noticeable depth provided by carefully aged base material. Apples, toast, yeast, nuts, lemon curd, light citrus, and a touch of spice……I could go on! A joyful Tassie sparkling that offers complexity and elegance at a great price.
